Mieczysław Kosz's self-titled album is a masterful collection of traditional Polish folk songs. The album features Kosz's virtuosic playing on the accordion, accompanied by the rich, layered sound of a full folk ensemble. The songs on the album are deeply rooted in Polish culture and history, and Kosz's performances bring out the emotion and passion of each piece.
One of the standout tracks on the album is "Wojtek," a haunting ballad about a soldier who adopts a bear cub during World War II. Kosz's accordion playing creates a sense of tension and urgency, perfectly capturing the drama of the story. Another highlight is "Dwa serduszka," a lively, upbeat dance tune that showcases Kosz's technical skill and the infectious energy of the ensemble.
